Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office to Purchase Body Cameras

The Hardeman County Commission approved funding for body cameras and related equipment for the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office during its September 15, 2026, meeting.

Commissioners approved a budget amendment moving $15,000 from the Sheriff’s Office drug fund into its law enforcement equipment line to purchase the cameras and equipment.

According to information presented during the meeting, the money will be used for the purchase of body cameras, along with computers and servers needed to support the equipment.

During discussion of the amendment, Commissioner David Bell asked whether the Sheriff’s Office would have body cameras for all of its officers.

“Yes, sir,” Sheriff Antonio Parham responded when asked if everyone would have a camera.

The body camera funding was included among a larger group of county budget amendments considered during the meeting. The $15,000 will come from the Sheriff’s Office drug fund rather than the county’s general fund balance.
