Auditions Announced for Arts Council’s Christmas Musical ‘Snowed in at the Evergreen’
Auditions are coming up for the Hardeman County Arts Council’s production of Snowed in at the Evergreen, a heartwarming Christmas musical that will bring a Hallmark-movie-style holiday story to the stage this December.
Auditions will be held on Thursday, September 24, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, September 26, at 10 a.m. at The Timbers, the former Chamber of Commerce building located at 500 W. Market St. in Bolivar.
Snowed in at the Evergreen takes place on Christmas Eve in the lobby of a charming but slightly run-down lodge. When a massive blizzard hits, the lodge staff, several eccentric guests and a delivery driver suddenly find themselves trapped inside.
With the weather outside keeping everyone from leaving and a power outage threatening to ruin Christmas Eve, the group decides to make the best of the situation by staging the lodge’s famous “Christmas Eve Variety Show” right in the lobby.
The production includes several featured roles as well as opportunities for ensemble performers.
Characters include Beatrice, the warm and motherly owner of the lodge who is secretly worried she may have to sell it; Penny and Patty, a maid and waitress duo who provide plenty of comedy; Victoria, a high-strung corporate executive stranded at the lodge on business who hates Christmas; and Sam, the lodge’s good-natured handyman.
The cast also includes “The Travelers,” an ensemble of various guests stranded at the lodge, along with The Carolers, a small group of children and adults who become trapped while going door-to-door.
The production is scheduled to take the stage December 11-13, 2026.
