October Library Happenings
The following is a list of some events happening at our county libraries in October.
Whiteville Lee Ola Roberts Library will host:
- Chair yoga on October 11 and 25 at 1 p.m.
- Halloween Crafts on the 4 and 18 at 4:30 p.m. All ages welcome.
- Genealogy Writing Workshop on October 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. that will help participants research and write their family history for inclusion in the Bicentennial Book for Hardeman County. It is free. No registration is required.
Grand Junction Public Library will host:
- Genealogy Writing Workshop on October 13 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. that will help participants research and write their family history for inclusion in the Bicentennial Book for Hardeman County. It is free. No registration is required.
- Scrapbooking Workshop on October 28, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Participants should bring five photos/pictures from any event. The cost is $10 for the class. Pages, adhesives, instruction, and assistance will be provided. Pre-registration is required and is due by Friday, October 14, 2022.
Bolivar- Hardeman County Library will host:
- Sassy Seniors – Health, Fitness, Arts & Crafts, and Games for seniors.
- Brown Bag Book Club is moved to October 17, 2022 at 12 p.m.
- $.25 Paperback October Book Sale. Stock up on your end of summer reads or get ready for these cold winter days. Hurry before they are all gone!! Sale books are located on tables in front of the Book Shop inside library.
Middleton Library will host:
- Genealogy Writing Workshop on October 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that will help participants research and write their family history for inclusion in the Bicentennial Book for Hardeman County. It is free. No registration is required.
- October’s Adult Book Club Pick: Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate with special guest Ann-Claire Simpson. Ann-Claire Simpson is an adoptee of the infamous Tennessee Children’s Home Society in Memphis. She resides in Middleton and will be with us to share her story and extensive research. Copies of the book will be available for checkout at the library. Meeting on October 14 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- S.T.E.M. club on October 20 at 4:00 p.m. We will have fun activities using S.T.E.M. It’s going to be so much fun!! And it’s all free! Ages 6-13.
- YA Book Club will meet Saturday, October 22 at 11:00 a.m. October’s Book Club Pick: Cinder by Marissa Meyer
- Manga Club will meet Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 a.m. Participants will receive the book The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Volume One by Akra Himekawa to borrow and read.
