Total Transformation Celebrates One Year of a Focus on Mind, Body, and Spirit
Total Transformation celebrated one year of promoting awareness of one’s mind, body, and spirit in Hardeman County with line dancing and a fitness class held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at the Bolivar Farmers Market pavilion. The October evening had weather perfect for an outside event and brought out nearly 100 people to celebrate.
“We (Total Transformation) are about mind, body, and spirit, “said Melissa McTizic, founder of Total Transformation. “One’s health is essential.”
Since its inception, Total Transformation has offered a variety of physical education classes in the county. This past summer, an aqua aerobics class was held at the pool at Bolivar City Park. The class had regular attendance of 20 or more students who wanted to improve their health through exercise and implementing better eating habits. This fall, McTizic is offering line dancing classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m. at the Bolivar Municipal Center, which are free to attend.
Speakers at the event included Tony Parham, Yakina Dickerson McClellan, and McTizic who shared mental health, physical health, and nutritional health information. Several students who currently attend the line dancing class shared how they have benefitted from participating in the class. D.J. Bernard Lowe kept the music going all night with background sounds and also with select songs that got attendees moving during the line dancing and fitness class portion of the event.
Total Transformation class offerings are free to attend and all are invited.
“Everyone is accepted. Fitness has no age, color, or gender,” said McTizic. “The joy expressed by each lady with no big “I” or little “you” in the class is what we believe.”
Refreshments for the event were provided by Amy Elizer with Be More Hardeman.
