Bolivar Firefighters Promoted to Engineer
Bolivar, TN – The Bolivar Fire Department officially promoted three firefighters to the position of engineer during a pinning ceremony on Thursday, November 3, 2022. The oath of office was administered by Mayor Julian McTizic. The traditional pinning of departmental insignia and badges was completed by family members of the firefighters.
“Firefighting is inherently dangerous and is not a career choice to be taken lightly. These gentlemen have demonstrated the desire to excel in their careers by completing the training requirements for the position of engineer. We are very proud of their accomplishments,” said Bolivar Fire Chief Lynn Price.
Promoted to the position of engineer were Mr. William (B.J.) Bolyard, Mr. James Weston Wilhite, and Mr. Xzavier Woods. B.J. and Xzavier joined the department as career firefighters after serving as volunteer firefighters for several years. Weston joined the department in October 2021 as a career firefighter.
