Tammy Sue Brooks ~ January 12, 1962 – December 19, 2022

Tammy Sue Brooks, 60, of Ashland, Mississippi, passed from this life Monday, December 19, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville.

Mrs. Brooks was born Friday, January 12, 1962, in Humboldt, the daughter of Frances Baltimore Eddings of Southaven, Mississippi and the late DeRoy Eddings. She lived in Memphis and Benton County prior to moving to Ashland, Mississippi about 18 years ago. Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker, being disabled since 2012, and her family described her as ‘the greatest mother of all’. She enjoyed shopping, her sweets, riding in her Mustang, going to Memphis, and everything about the holidays, especially Thanksgiving. Mrs. Brooks was known to have never met a stranger and loved all whom she met, but held her greatest love for her family and grandchildren. She was Baptist in faith.

Funeral services will be at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Lamar, Mississippi at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022 . Burial will be in the Allen Family Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors is in charge of the services.

Survivors include her husband, whom she married on August 31, 1977, Curtis Ray Brooks of Ashland, Mississippi; a daughter, Teresa Brooks of Ashland, Mississippi; four sons, Chris Brooks (April) of Ashland, Shannon Brooks (Amber) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Justin Brooks (Megan) of Lamar, Mississippi, and Noah Boswell of Ashland; her mother, Frances Eddings of Southaven, Mississippi; six brothers, Patrick Eddings of Collierville, Mark Eddings of Memphis, DeRoy Eddings of Southaven, Mississippi, Billy Ray Eddings of Dyer, Tennessee, William Eddings of Batesville, Mississippi, and Joe Eddings of Southaven, Mississippi; a sister, Lila Hadley of Paducah, Kentucky; 17 grandchildren, Dominic and Leland Brooks, Raymond, Wesley and Noah Boswell, Koby Kenyon, Jaylen Calli Brooks and Nathaniel Brooks, Shawn Kenyon, Jay, Marshall, Tyler, Schyler, Preston and Isaiah Brooks, and Tyler and Eli Taylor; and five great grandchildren, Natalie Brooks, Kaylen Boswell, Raymond Boswell, Jr., Violet Boswell, and Maybaliene Brooks. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Michaels, Joyce Litefoot, and Betty Davis. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
