Merry Christmas from Middleton High School
By Kayleigh Maxwell, Hatchie Press Middleton High School Student Reporter
Midterms at Middleton High School (MHS) are finally over! Earlier last week, our seniors took the ASVAB test, and later went on to take the ACT along with the sophomores and juniors. The last week before Christmas break was very stressful and hectic for students as they were cramming for the upcoming midterms. Now that it is over, it is time to relax and enjoy Christmas break.
Once the presents are unwrapped and students are back in the classrooms, MHS will be full of exciting events. Starting up as soon as the students return, the basketball teams will be having dress-up days for their upcoming homecoming, which is January 5, through January 10. Starting with Wednesday, the following are the days’ themes:
Thursday, January 5, 2023 – Addams Day
Friday, January 6, 2023 – Salad Dressing Day
Friday – Freaky Friday Teacher – Student Swap
Monday, January 9, 2023 – Athlete vs Mathlete
Tuesday, January 10, 2023 – Tiger Spirit Day.
The homecoming game will include both middle and high school and will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at MHS’s new gym.
The Beta Club has also been in on the festivities for this holiday season. Earlier this month, the MHS Beta students hosted a “Pancakes with Santa” on December 3, 2022, trying to spread the joy of Christmas and raise money to go on some fun trips later this school year.
Also to help spread some holiday joy was the annual Middleton Christmas parade that was held on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Many clubs from MHS participated in the parade as well as other local businesses. Several of the organizations and clubs that put together floats for the parade were most excited about the float contest that is held during the parade. The winner this year was our very own Middleton High School Beta Club with its themed float entitled “Happy Wholiday”. Congratulations to the MHS Beta Club and and other winners who participated in the Middleton Down Home Christmas Parade.
