Wallace “Buddy” Houck ~ November 5, 1946 – December 28, 2022 (age 76)
Wallace “Buddy” Houck, 76, of Middleton, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at his home.
The widower of Barbara Barnes Houck, who passed away October 5, 2019, after 53 years of marriage, he was retired from D.Canale Industries in 2017 and also worked for Pepsi in the early 1970’s. He was born Tuesday, November 5, 1946, in Memphis, son of the late Wallace Ripley Houck and Rose Lee Cassini Houck and moved to Hardeman County from Shelby County in 2006. Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing and hunting, and was a big college football fan, with the University of Alabama being his favorite team. Mr. Houck was a member of three Bass
Clubs, Memphis, Holiday and Bass Mates, winning three championships. He held his greatest love for his family and grandchildren. They considered him to be a wonderful provider for them. Mr. Houck was a Mason and a Christian in belief.
Services were at the Shackelford chapel in Middleton at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Burial was in Reaves Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Dauby (Jack) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana and Kerin Bailey (Mark) of Middleton; a son, Chris Houck (Jeannie) of Gibson, Tennessee; three sisters, Rose Ann King of Knoxville, Betty Lou Holt (Terry) of Senatobia, Mississippi, and Nancy Jo Houck of Knoxville; seven grandchildren, Danielle McGuire (Jacob), Cody Houck (Emily), Amber Harris (Brady), Hannah Mooney (Brandon), Katherine Engle (Collin) and Noah Houck; and five great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
