ABB Electrification Expanding to Neighboring Selmer, Bringing 50 Jobs

ABB Electrification (ABB), a global technology leader enabling the efficient and reliable distribution of electricity from source to socket, plans to expand its operations in McNairy County, Tennessee. The project will involve ABB investing $76 million, creating 50 new jobs in Selmer.

“The U.S. is ABB’s largest global market, so it is imperative that we continue to invest in our footprint here to better serve our customers and help them reach their energy efficiency goals,” said Michael Plaster, executive vice president, ABB Electrification U.S. “The new facility in Selmer will leverage the experience and insights of our talented local employees to increase our production capacity to meet market demand for advanced electrification technologies and enable us to continue to serve our customers in this growing market.”

“I’m pleased to announce that ABB is investing $76 million in Selmer. As part of this investment, ABB will begin construction on a new manufacturing facility. This expansion will create 50 new jobs and bring ABB’s total workforce to over 1,200 Tennesseans. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership,” said Senator Page Walley.
