Arts Council to Hold Auditions for Mary Poppins Jr.

The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) is holding auditions for Mary Poppins JR. on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 10 a.m., and Monday, June 17, 2024, and Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 6 p.m. Roles are available for ages nine to adults.

All people auditioning are asked to bring their own music and be prepared to sing. There will be a piano and a CD player available, but you are encouraged to bring your music on a mobile device.

Synopsis: The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”

Auditions will be held at the HCAC, 1580 West Market, Bolivar, Tennessee 38008.

The production dates are Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7, 2024, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 2 p.m.
