Backermann’s Country Market to Begin 2026 Under New Ownership
On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Mark Yoder of Backermann’s Country Market shared a heartfelt message on the company website announcing the store has been sold. Backermann’s Country Market, which has been owned by the Yoder family for more than 20 years, will be under new management/ownership on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
The message to customers read as follows:
Dear Customers . . .
The Yoder family has owned and operated Backermann’s since 2002. We have now made the difficult decision to sell the business. Suffice it to say that our Faith in the God who sustained us is now nudging us to move on.
I am happy to say that it will be passed on to very capable hands; the new owners have the goal to preserve the values that we have worked hard to weave into the fabric of the place. I have confidence they will strive to serve you even better than we have.
Current plans are to continue business as usual until Monday, January 5, 2026, on which day we will close for inventory. We then hope to open back up on Tuesday, January 6 under new management/ownership. I urge you to continue supporting the business. Most of the current employees will be staying and they will do their best to meet your needs just like before. Thank you so much for your patronage and for many of you, your friendship. We plan to still be in the community and hope to be involved in other ways yet to be determined. God bless each of you!
