BEA to Begin Herbicide Treatment of Right of Ways

Bolivar Energy Authority (BEA) has a contract with Volunteer Vegetation Management (VVM) to treat the power line right of way with herbicide. Work will begin on Monday, July 14, 2025, in the Powell Chapel Substation service area and the West Bolivar Substation service area.

The Powell Chapel service area includes Hornsby; north of Hornsby; Highway 64 from just east of the Hatchie River to McNairy County line; Walnut Grove Road; Forrest Hill Road; Hornsby Loop Road; and Powell Chapel Road south to the Hatchie River.

The West Bolivar service area includes the rural areas around the City of Bolivar; Highway 64 towards Whiteville; Old Highway 64; Vildo Road; Russell Road; Meckinburg Road; Highway 18 South to Hickory Valley; and Van Buren Road.
