Are you ready for the biggest weight lost challenge in Hardeman County? Melissa McTizic of Total Transformation and Antonio Parham want you to join them for the Bolivar & Hardeman County Biggest Loser Health Challenge. The goal of the 90-day health and weight loss challenge is to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and nutrition, and to promote healthier lifestyles for members of our community.

Ms. McTizic and Mr. Parham, both personal trainers, have a heart for teaching people how to better care for their bodies. It was only fitting to partner on a challenge that has the possibility of doing that and bringing people together in community. Despite it being a competition, it is the hope teams will not only support its members, but all who are participating in the challenge to lose weight.

“We are encouraging individuals, families, churches, schools as well as local businesses, to show their support by participating and cultivating a shared commitment to better health, mind, body, and spirit of each member of our community,” said Ms. McTizic.

Inspirational speaker and author Fredrel Cross will be the special guest at the kickoff of the challenge that will be held at the Old Annex building, 106 3rd Street in Bolivar, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 9 a.m. Participants will be in teams of up to 10 people and ages 12 years old and older. The entry fee is $50 per person (non-refundable). Cash prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, and 1st place team. The 2nd and 3rd place teams will receive participation plaques.

“Although the cash prizes are a great incentive for people to participate, Tony and I hope that on this 90-day journey to better health, participants not only lose weight, but build accountability relationships with teammates, and establish goals and habits that will render sustainable health benefits for each participant.”

The first weigh ins will be on Friday, February 2, 2024, and Saturday, February 3, 2024, and the last ones on Thursday, May 2, 2024, and Friday, May 3, 2024. The winners will be announced on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Total Transformation 3rd Annual 5k Walk.
