Birds of Prey & Reptiles Visit Whiteville Library

As a part of its Summer Reading Program, the Lee Ola Roberts Library in Whiteville hosted Birds of Prey & Reptiles. There were over 60 people in attendance for the event. Lindsey Brown, Seasonal Interpretive Recreator with Chickasaw State Park, brought two live animals to the library.

The children in attendance enjoyed handling Hoshi, a Brooks King Snake native to Florida. They learned the difference in the words poisonous and venomous and how to identify venomous snakes. Hook, a Barred Owl was also displayed for the children to learn about. Some events the Whiteville Library has planned for the remainder of the summer include Career Coaching, Chair Yoga, and Power Up for Kids.
