Bogey’s Bar & Grill Bringing Community, Nostalgia to Country Club

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Bogey’s Bar & Grill, which is located at the Hardeman County Golf and Country Club in Bolivar, on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Cutting the ribbon was Barry Williams, Jr., affectionately known as “Boog” by the Hardeman County community – to not mistake him for his father, Barry Williams. As the manager of the newly renovated dining space, Mr. Williams hopes to usher the club into a new era, with a little bit of nostalgia, for the members and guests who will patronize the bar and grill.
Members of the Hardeman County Chamber were in attendance as well as people from the community who came to see the new look of the bar and grill, which is the result of almost three years of renovations. Mr. Williams has fond and enduring memories of the bar and grill from almost 40 years ago when eating at the country club was a regular occurrence for members.
“We kind of remember those days in the late 80s and 90s when it was a real fun and nice place to be. With the simple renovation of our main dining room and the main bar lounge area, we hope it gives our members and their guests an extra space to come to and hang out,” said Mr. Williams, who thanked everyone for their patience and support while everything was coming together. “We want members to be proud of and utilize this part of the club, and fellowship in a sense.”
“This is not only an opportunity for Bolivar-Hardeman County, but the Hardeman County Golf and Country Club specifically. We hope this is an opportunity for us to bring in some new people, let people see what we got, the opportunities we have out here, and also to get some good food,” said Dylan Hill, City of Bolivar Director of Community Development and Tourism.
Bogey’s Bar & Grill officially opens on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Those dining can expect to enjoy bar appetizers, wings, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, wraps, and other similar foods. Mr. Williams hopes to eventually offer pork plates, pulled pork barbeque, and move towards having specialty evenings with steak nights, fish nights, and even holding fish frys. He also noted Sunday brunches are a feature he would like to offer.
“The whole point of this is not for anyone to make a whole sack of gold. It is for us to be an amenity for the club and for the neighborhood,” said Mr. Williams. “I am really looking forward to this. Bear with us as we get our feet underneath us.”
Bogey’s Bar & Grill is located at the Hardeman County Golf and Country Club, 215 Country Club Lane, in Bolivar, Tennessee. The hours are Thursday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the bar being open until 9 p.m. each of those nights.
