Bolivar City Council Candidates Speak About Upcoming Election

Candidates for the upcoming City of Bolivar election were invited to speak at the April meeting of the Hardeman County Republican Party. Two candidates, Todd Lowe and Chris Williams, accepted the invitation and shared about their campaigns and the upcoming election.

Four City of Bolivar council positions are up for election on May 16, 2023. Those positions are non-partisan and divided over two districts. Bolivar residents will be able to vote for the candidates in their district. Early voting begins April 26, 2023, and runs through May 11, 2023.

Candidates that will be on the ballot are:

District A, Position 1; Carol B. Spinks (incumbent) and Caroline Miller

District A, Position 2; Larry McKinnie (incumbent) and Donnell Polk Jr. {read more about Larry McKinnie here}

District B, Position 1; Todd N. Lowe (incumbent) and Gwenda Woods

District B, Position 3; Christopher Lee Williams {read more about Mr. Williams here}

The Bolivar Mayor’s position and the remaining Bolivar City Council positions will be up for election in 2025.

The Hardeman County Republican Party regularly invites community leaders to speak. Next month, property assessor Josh Pulse has been invited to speak.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 6 p.m. at 100 South Main in Bolivar. Everyone is welcome to attend.
