Community Garden Opens in Bolivar for the 2023 Season

If you are wanting to try your hand at gardening this year, the City of Bolivar Community Garden has a place for you!

The City of Bolivar Community Garden will open for the 2023 season on Monday, April 3, 2023, and open garden hours will continue every Monday and Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. until June when the hours will change to 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

To join in, all you have to do is to come out to one of the open garden sessions and sign a waiver to get started. If you would like to garden your own raised bed within the garden, come by the garden for a quick garden orientation, sign a waiver, and you will be entrusted with a plot for the garden season.

If anything is harvested during these open garden sessions, you will be going home with fresh fruits and/or veggies.

The Bolivar Community Garden also has a fresh produce giveaway bin right outside of the garden and anyone is welcome to take anything inside that bin. Produce from the garden is also donated to Hatchie Haven Apartments in Bolivar.

The garden in located in Pleasant Run Creek Park at 100 Stevens Road in Bolivar.
