Bolivar Hospital Recognized as an Age-Friendly Health System

Bolivar, TN – October 2, 2025 – West Tennessee Healthcare Bolivar Hospital is proud to share it has been recognized as a Level 2 Age-Friendly Health System – Committed to Care  Excellence by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.

This honor means that our hospital is following the highest standards of care for older adults in our community. We have been working hard to make sure that when seniors come through our doors, we focus on four key areas known as the 4Ms:

What Matters – listening to what is most important to each patient and their family.

Medication – making sure medicines are safe and helpful.

Mentation – paying close attention to memory, mood, and mental health.

Mobility – helping folks stay active and moving safely.

“This recognition is really about our patients,” said Cynthia Cole, Chief Nursing Officer, Bolivar Hospital. “We want every older adult who comes to Bolivar Hospital to feel cared for, respected, and treated like family. That’s what this honor stands for, and that’s what our team  does every single day.”

West Tennessee Healthcare Bolivar Hospital joins thousands of hospitals and clinics across the country that are making age-friendly care a priority. More than 5.4 million older adults have already been reached through this movement and Bolivar Hospital is proud to be part of it.
