Braden Foster Brings Magic and Illusion to the Arts Center
Braden Foster brought the mystery and excitement of magic and illusion to the Hardeman County Arts Center on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Audience members sat with great expectation as Braden was right there ready to present an entertaining show. He performed one incredible trick after another leaving the audience members asking, “how did he do that?”
Braden last performed at the HCAC in May 2024, and on Saturday night he brought a brand new show. The first trick of wonder he did was tearing a newspaper into pieces and magically those pieces became one again. The evening continued with more of Braden’s magic and illusion that included matching card tricks, a floating balloon (without helium), money shredding, a little bit of his comedic humor, and an opportunity for him to share his Christian faith.
One shocking, but thrilling trick was what Braden called “hammer head”. Just as one expected, it involved a hammer and a nail, but what he did next was truly amazing.
It went in one side and came out of the other. Don’t worry, no magicians or illusionists were injured “in the making of this trick”.
Along with his lovely assistant Julie Bell, Braden requested several audience members, willing and unwilling, to help him with some of the tricks he performed.
And one audience member, fortunately, managed to not leave with a $20 deficit. But there was a bit of uncertainty each time an envelope was placed in a real paper shredder Braden used on stage.
Some common questions Braden receives from people due to his profession are “can you read minds?” and “can you make people disappear?”. So, Braden answered both questions with more magic and illusion.
His next volunteers included a familiar Hardeman County face, Mayor Todd Pulse. With the help of a willing young man as his helper, Braden proved people can read minds (and like Dolly Parton too).
And that he could make people disappear.
An illusion can be very convincing.
And a lot of fun too.
