Business Spotlight: Gatlin “Starts Something New” with Opening of GATTAX
Hardeman County native Michion E. Gatlin “started something new” on Friday, January 6, 2023, when he cut the grand opening ribbon leading to his new office of Golden Rule Financial DBA GATTAX. Surrounded by family and friends, and other members from the community, Gatlin referred to the experience as a “wondrous day”!
Gatlin grew up in Hardeman County and has been business and community minded ever since he was young. He is a 1995 graduate of Bolivar Central High School and continued his education at the University of Memphis.
“During that time, I worked at Shaw’s Broadcasting Company as a D.J.,” said Gatlin, who was already a well-known figure in the community.
Last year, Gatlin ran an extremely close race in the August 4, 2022 election for Hardeman County Commissioner District 1 Position 2 (losing by only eight votes), which is evident of the impact he has made in the community over the years. His desire to help others and make a difference in his community is part of his motto for GATTAX, which is “tax preparation at its finest”.
“I treat your money the way I want my money treated,” said Gatlin who has been in the tax business for 12 years. “I’m going to go into the community and make sure everybody is satisfied once they come to me.”
Some of the offered services include comprehensive personal tax prep, extensive small business preparation, and Gatlin is knowledgeable in federal, state, and local laws.
Gatlin is looking forward to the opportunity his new business will bring as well as its success. The venture is one he hopes will benefit his family and will have a positive impact in the community.
“To be able to have an impact on my family and on my community is pretty much paramount to me. So that’s my main goal and the main thing I want to do here in Hardeman County.”
Golden Rule Financial DBA GATTAX is located at 118 Warren Street, Bolivar, 38008. You may contact Gatlin at (800) 898-3643 or visit the company online at www.grf6.com.
