The Hardeman County Board of Zoning Appeals met on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. The main item on the agenda was a request for a Use Permit on Appeal for Piccolo Lake Solar, LLC’s Solar Facility which is planned to be developed on 2,100 acres in the Hickory Valley area. The Board allowed questions and comments from concerned citizens and from representatives of Piccolo Lake Solar. After much discussion, a motion was made to approve the Use Permit on Appeal for the Solar Facility. Four Board members voted with two votes “yes” and two votes “pass”. At the close of the meeting it was still uncertain to those in attendance whether the votes cast constituted a pass or fail. The Zoning Office has confirmed that the vote was a pass and a Use Permit on Appeal was approved for Piccolo Lake Solar, LLC. The Planning Commission approved the Site Plan for Piccolo Lake Solar, LLC’s development in April. The full meeting may be viewed here.
