Caring Came Straight from the Heart at Fayette Cares Charity Gala

Supporting the Fayette Cares mission at A Night of Southern Elegance – Straight form the Heart are Circuit Court Judge Blake and Mrs. Delana Neill, Fayette Cares Executive Director Alexandra Porto, Nicholas Kelley, Erin and General Sessions Court Judge David Douglass, and District Attorney Mark Davis.

Hearts are bursting with gratitude at Fayette Cares because of the overwhelming generosity shown by supporters at A Night of Southern Elegance – Straight from the Heart on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

Domestic violence survivor and News Channel 3 Meteorologist Wendy Nations urged guests to fund the Fayette Cares programs that give safety and stability to families suffering with abuse and poverty; and guests responded with open hearts.  Nearly ¼ of the annual budget was raised at this event in order to fund services including 24-hour domestic violence intervention programs, emergency food and shelter aid, rent/utility assistance, community training, and much more.

A special thank you was given to House of Faith Ministries for hosting this grand event in their new space, The Venue. Guests enjoyed a silent and live auction with hot bidding on items and experiences including a Farm to Table dinner, Turks & Caicos getaway, Argentina dove hunting, and more. The night ended on a high note with live music and dancing to the 1-900 Band.

At the event, Fayette Cares spotlighted a critical need for support. The agency shared that for nearly 20 years, fast flowing water has rushed down the steep hills at the back of the shelter. This has caused a serious erosion problem with massive holes that will topple the security fence and make the children’s play areas unsafe. Knowing that without these repairs the kids in the shelter have no safe place to play, donors raised $20,000 of the $25,000 needed for repairs.

Now, Fayette Cares needs help to raise the remaining $5,000, and encourages all community members to open their hearts by making a donation. Those who show love, will help fix the erosion problem, and give kids in the shelter the happy childhood memories they need.

To help fund repairs and support the life changing work of Fayette Cares, you may donate at FayetteCares.org/donate or mail to PO Box 326, Somerville, Tennessee 38068. No act of generosity is too small.

Enjoying the excitement of the live auction was event sponsor and Fayette Care supporter Spence Halford of Rolling Thunder Game Calls.
