City of Bolivar Basketball 11 -14 League Finishes Season

The City of Bolivar Coed Basketball League for players ages 11 through 14 closed out its season on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, with a final game that was followed by the presentation of medals. There were more than 80 children who participated in the league.

Basketball skills were taught before the league started and throughout the season during team practices.

“Each kid benefited in many different ways, but most importantly they learned the game of basketball from experienced coaches,” said Demitrice Beauregard, Activities Instructor for the City of Bolivar. “Another benefit is that the kids were able to be amongst their peers in a different setting other than school.”

Beauregard took over the reigns as director of the basketball league when he joined the city as activities instructor two years ago. He previously worked at Bolivar Middle School for 15 years of which 12 he was the head boys basketball coach. The coaches of the Bolivar league teams are volunteers from the community who help make it possible to continue to hold the leagues for children in the community.

The top eight teams from the 2023 City of Bolivar Coed Basketball League for players ages 11 through 14 are the following:

Champions: Alabama

Runner Up: Suns

3rd Place: Lakers

4th Place: Nets

5th Place: Memphis

6th Place: Thunder

7th Place: Bucks
