City of Bolivar Fire Teaches Children During Fire Safety Week
The City of Bolivar Fire Department (BFD) recognized National Fire Prevention Week Sunday through Saturday, October 6 – 12, 2024, by visiting area schools on their campuses and inviting students to visit and tour the city fire station. This year was the 102nd celebration of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in its effort to promote public education about fire prevention and safety.
City of Bolivar Fire Chief Lynn Price and his fire crew and staff shared fire safety tips with all the students which included public school and home school children. For the ones that were able to visit the fire station, those students saw the equipment from trucks to the Jaws of Life. The fire truck ladder and the distance it stretched to the sky amazed everyone.
The City of Bolivar Fire Department hosted more than 300 children at its department during National Fire Prevention Week.
