City of Middleton Meeting – August 2024
The City of Middleton Mayor and Board of Aldermen met on Monday, August 19, 2024, for its regular monthly meeting. The agenda is shown below of the issues that were covered during the meeting. You may watch the full meeting video below and also on the Hatchie Press YouTube channel.
Board Meeting Agenda
1) Call meeting to order.
2) Approve the minutes from the July 15, 2024 meeting. {minute mark 1:05}
3) Approve bills paid in July, 2024. {minute mark 1:26}
4) Fire Department Report. {minute mark 2:00}
5) Police Department Report. {minute mark 6:14}
6) Utility Report. {minute mark 10:53}
7) Planning commission recommendation to subdivide Map 172, Parcel 055.00, the Huey and Doris Mott property. {minute mark 13:04}
8) Health insurance bids were opened August 9, 2024. The only agent to send a bid was from The Malone Company, our current agent. {minute mark 14:20}
9) Hannah Clifton. {minute mark 16:10}
10) Employee compensation. {minute mark 18:18}
11) Resolution 2025-01, budget related. {minute mark 28:59}
12) Engineered Solutions Midwest was requested to perform repairs on the booster pump. The only other company that could possibly make the repair, would have been BAM2. They were saying they would be 90 days out, but due to the importance of this pump, it was decided to accept Engineered Solutions Midwest for the job. This pump was originally installed to enable the fire suppression system to work at the elementary school and the system still relies on the pump. Engineered Solutions Midwest originally installed said pump. Due to time and safety factors, it was considered an emergency purchase. The purchase order and estimate are to be added to the minutes of this meeting. {minute mark 30:29}
13) Resolution 2025-02 and other library information. {minute mark 32:18}
14) Barbara Milka is attempting to start up an alcoholics anonymous group that would meet here in Middleton. She is thinking once a week meetings, possibly going to twice a week. She is asking about the community center availability? Or any other ideas as far as where they could meet. {minute mark 34:28}
15) James Maxwell (acct#2-0652) – would like a sewer adjustment for 12,704 gallons in the amount of $63.01. This is related to filling their pool. {minute mark 37:19}
16) Public comment period for matters germane to items on the agenda. {minute mark 44:46}
17) Distribute revenue and expense report. {minute mark 1:03:06}
18) Adjourn meeting. {minute mark 1:03:13}
