Competitive Canned Foods Contest Coming to Forest Festival
Home food preservers can enjoy showcasing their work by entering their canned goods in the Tennessee Forest Festival. The festival, which is scheduled for September 8 and 9, 2023, will feature traditional fair food, demonstrations and displays, a canned goods competition, a children’s art contest, inflatable bouncers, competitive contests, a demolition derby, and more.
Home canned entries will be accepted on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hardeman County Agribusiness Center, 210 Vildo Road in Bolivar.
All canning entries must be labeled with the exhibitor’s name on the bottom of the jar. All jellies must be standard jelly glass or in half pint Mason jars. All other canning must be in standard quart or pint Mason jars. Awards for each category will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons.

- Pepper Sauce
