Hardeman County Commissioners Cory Bufford, Michion Gatlin, Joseph Jenkins, Chandra Johnson-Lake, and Bethany Miller partnered with land consultant James Reaves on Saturday, October 26, 2024, for a Conservation Outreach Seminar.

During the seminar, Mr. Reaves shared information about conservation outreach programs, practices that will improve one’s farm and timber land, and grant funds available through the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). He also presented an overview of heirs property.

Mr. Reaves previously spoke in Hardeman County in August 2023 as a guest at one of Commissioner Miller’s Town Hall meetings. Commissioner Miller noted the importance for land owners to attend the seminars presented by Mr. Reaves, so they can learn about resources that are available to them.

“I learned that there is funding out there for farms and or land. We have to share our knowledge,” said Commissioner Miller.

Mr. Reaves has been traveling through the state of Tennessee helping Tennesseans with limited resources gain insightful knowledge regarding NRCS farm and timber land practices and its grant funds. For more information, please contact James Reaves at (901) 834-7844.
