Don’t Miss the Historic Home Walking Tour this Weekend
Put your walking shoes on and head to Downtown Bolivar for the Historic Home Walking Tour, which is part of the Bicentennial Events festivities happening this weekend. The Bills-McNeal Historic District includes several homes with history that dates back to the 1800s and tells the stories of the City of Bolivar.
Using the map, you will find the homes included on the tour, which are the McNeal Place, The Columns, St. James Episcopal Church, and The Pillars. Although the homes are not open to tour inside, there will be docents at The Columns for people to walk through the gardens and also at the the Polk Cemetery.
While on the tour, look for these markers, which share interesting facts and information about each location. The tour is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
