Facing the Food Gap: A Call to Action for Our Community

PRESS RELEASE
Families across the country are facing an urgent reality with the possibility of a halt in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. At Fayette Cares, the impact is already being felt with requests for emergency food assistance on the rise. Parents who never imagined needing help are now scrambling to fill lunch boxes. Seniors who once got by, are choosing between groceries and medication.
This year has been especially challenging for Fayette Cares. Funding cuts and delays have created a nearly $30,000 shortfall, threatening the ability to keep shelves stocked and programs running. At this vulnerable moment, the agency is bracing for what may become a much larger surge in need.
You can make the difference. Please help bridge the gap with donations of food and funds. Your gifts ensure that help is there when it’s needed most — not tomorrow, not later, but today. Donate via the Amazon Wish List at: https://a.co/6lDkLgKor or make a monetary gift for maximum impactat: www.FayetteCares.org/donate.
Another way to supporting the critical programs of Fayette Cares, is by attending A Night of Southern Elegance: Disco Ball, the annual Fayette Cares charity gala and auction on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at The Venue in Somerville, Tennessee. With the funky flair of the disco 70s, this unforgettable evening will feature a dazzling dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions that raise vital funds for local families in crisis.

The event will offer auction items small and large ranging from tropical escapes and diamond jewelry to turkey hunting, Grizzlies suite tickets, beekeeping lessons, Disney vacations, and much more. Every bid helps provide food, shelter, safety, and stability for neighbors in need.
Fayette Cares extends heartfelt thanks to its generous sponsors who make important services possible, including Opal Sponsor: Ring Container Technologies, Fund-a-Need Sponsor: All-Star Products, Gold Sponsors: Mercedes-Benz of Collierville and Invenergy, Silver Sponsor: G&G Repair, Entertainment Sponsor: Fayette Janitorial, and Bronze Sponsors: Knights of Columbus Council #14482, Michelob Ultra, Mahaffey Event & Tent Rentals, Tina Glover, Tennessee Ivy, as well as Event Hosts: House of Faith Ministries and many other caring community partners.
Every contribution, no matter the size, matters. Together, we make sure no one in our community goes to bed hungry. Visit www.FayetteCares.org to learn more about the mission or reserve gala tickets before they sell out.
