Fayette and Hardeman Rank No. 9 & 10 in State Deer Harvest

The deer pictured in the above graphic is the new state record archery harvest with a net score of 192 6/8.
The gross number of inches was 197 5/8.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has reported the final deer harvest numbers for the 2022 – 2023 season and Fayette and Hardeman counties ranked in the top ten.

The total deer harvest for the state of Tennessee was 163,154, with 21,077 being harvested by archery, 24,309 by muzzleloader, and 117,768 by rifle.

The top ten counties in the state were:

1. Giles – 4,301

2. Lawrence – 3,973

3. Montgomery – 3,861

4. Sumner – 3,568

5. Maury – 3,550

6. Franklin – 3,318

7. Henry – 3,215

8. Wayne – 3,208

9. Fayette – 3,127

10. Hardeman – 3,113
