Run to Register for Fayette Cares 15th Annual High Cotton 5K/1K

Fayette Cares encourages the community to join the High Cotton 5K/1K benefit on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Somerville United Methodist Church. In its 15th year, the High Cotton 5K/1K carries on the tradition of leading participants to the Fayette County Chamber Cotton Festival for a full day of live music, a car show, inflatables, games, shopping, food, and more.

Run, walk, or dance to first place in this fun race with cotton-themed 5K awards and a personalized race finish video. The 15thh Annual High Cotton 5K Run/Walk & 1K Fun Run are not just races but an opportunity for our community to come together for a worthy cause. Supporters of this event aid Fayette Cares in protecting victims of abuse, sheltering people experiencing homelessness, providing meals for the hungry, and so much more.

Register today to get the early bird discount good through August 21, 2023,  and secure a spot for only $30 per adult and $15 per child (ages 17 and under). This limited time offer also guarantees each participant’s 2023 High Cotton 5K/1K shirt.  

Participants will take a scenic tour of Somerville with views of historic homes, churches, and a path through Somerville City Cemetery (circa 1829). Trophies will be awarded to 5K race winners in overall and age categories, while all 1K fun runners will receive a participation medallion. Awards will be presented at the Fayette County Chamber Cotton Festival.
