Grand Junction Library Summer Reading Program, ‘Huge Success’
The Grand Junction Summer Reading Program was held during the month of June and included several visitors from the community. More than 60 people attended the program that Grand Junction Library Director Diane Callahan deemed a “huge success”.
The theme this year of the Grand Junction Library Summer Reading Program was “All Things Great Outdoors”. The program was held every Thursday afternoon and included a variety of guests and activities.
“Judge Harriet Thompson was the reader the last week of the month and she also provided a food truck for all the attendees to have free ice cream,” said Ms. Callahan, who expressed her appreciation for Ms. Thompson and the others who made the June event possible. “As with all library programs, we could not exist without the huge volunteer community support we receive. Special thanks for this year’s program go to Cissye Pierce for planning, coordinating and implementing our crafts every single session. Thank you, Billie Gatewood, Cyndi Langhans, Donna Lane, Karen Turner, Bill Stone, Marla Mounce, Karen Vinyard, Lisa Coleman, Kristy Styers, Linda Woods from the Tennessee Health Department, Bettie Northcross, and of course a special thanks goes to all the parents and grandparents who brought their children and grandchildren. Thank you all. We could not have done it without you!”
