Hardeman County Carl Perkins Center Recognizes All-American Heroes
The flags have been waving and flying in unison all month long on the lawn of the Hardeman County Courthouse this May 2024 recognizing and honoring heroes and “saying thank you for their service to our beloved country and community”. The effort honors heroes – war veterans, active military personnel, National Guard members, reservists, firefighters, law enforcement officers, teachers, medical personnel, and anyone who serves or has served in the community.
Family and friends purchased flags in the names of people who they wanted recognized for their service. Sponsorship of a flag has not only brought attention to those heroes and their service to the community, but also was a fundraiser that benefited the Exchange Club – Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse (Hardeman County).
A kick-off celebration was held earlier this month by the Hardeman County Exchange Club – Carl Perkins Center on Monday, May 13, 2024, and was attended by several local officials. The names of all of the heroes recognized by a flag were read.
“I think it is important that people feel that their efforts are recognized and that they have made a difference in the lives of others,” said Monica Goodman, Director of the Hardeman County Exchange Club – Carl Perkins Center.
