Hardeman County Democratic Party Float a Big Hit in Bolivar Christmas Parade

The Hardeman Democratic Party float in the Bolivar Christmas Parade last Saturday seemed to make a big hit with parade watchers, especially the children who had their bags ready to receive the candy thrown to them. The theme, “Christmas in Candyland”, was well on display with a gingerbread house and assorted candies, and gingerbread men on the railings aglow in Christmas lights. Michion Gatlin, vice-chair of the party “emceed” while Christmas music played from the speakers. Among others on the float were local chair Rickey Griggs, several local Democratic executive committee members, Commissioners Cory Bufford and Joe Jenkins, County Clerk Tonet Griggs, and Whiteville Mayor Gene Bowden. State Democratic Party Committeewoman Meryl Rice was also on the float while State Committeeman Randall Rice drove the float.
