Hardeman County Learning Center Receives TVA S.T.E.M. Grant

Representatives from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) made a special stop at the Hardeman County Learning Center on Thursday, March 13, 2025, bringing with them a big check for $5,000. The Hardeman County Learning Center is one of 342 schools, which were awarded a S.T.E.M. grant through a TVA partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Inc., a TVA retiree organization. The grant was given to educators to develop science, technology, engineering, and math education projects across the Tennessee Valley region.
Under the direction of K-8 S.T.E.M. Coordinator Ms. Deana Sain, the Hardeman County Learning Center has been making strides in S.T.E.M. education. Ms. Sain has been diligent in securing several grants for the Learning Center to expand the offerings available to the large number of Hardeman County kindergarten through eighth grade students, who regularly visit throughout the school year.
Ms. Sain shared in November her excitement about the growth and expansion she has seen at the STEM Center. She noted her pleasure at how Hardeman County Schools growth in S.T.E.M. has centered around what benefits students the most.
With this grant, Ms. Sain was able to purchase drones, LEGO® Education BricQ sets, and motor kits for the Learning Center.
Bolivar Elementary School was also a recipient of the TVA grant.
