Hardeman County Retired Teachers’ Association Tour Lone Oaks Farm
The Hardeman County Retired Teachers’ Association (HCRTA) met on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Lone Oaks Farm 4-H and Youth Development Center to tour the facility and learn about both 4-H Camp opportunities and instructional programming available to students during the school year.
Penny Russell, 4-H and Youth Center Director, and Caitlin Brooks, STEM Program Coordinator, showcased classroom and outdoor spaces as well as the dormitories used for summer camps. Russell emphasized the educational opportunities that Lone Oaks Farm offers to Hardeman County students as well as those from surrounding school systems.
The next meeting of HCRTA is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Retired educators interested in joining HCRTA can contact chapter president Mark Avent by e-mail at aventjm2015@gmail.com.
