Hardeman County Tennessee State University Chapter to Celebrate 50 Years of Service

The Tennessee State University (TSU) Hardeman County Alumni Chapter will celebrate 50 years of service to the TSU and Hardeman County students on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 6 p.m. This is a milestone for the chapter and will be celebrated with a gala that is suitable for the occasion.

The chapter was chartered on October 1, 1973, and since that time has assisted students, interested in attending TSU, to matriculate to the school. Charter members of the chapter included Samuel Bufford, Arthur Harris, Major and Minerva Jarrett, Johnny Lake, Evelyn C. and Hugholene Robertson, Ernest Wilburn, and Major and Frankie Wilburn. The current chapter president is Casandra Bufford.

The gala will be held at the Bolivar Municipal Center and promises to be a memorable semi-formal affair. Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased by contacting Major Wilburn at (731) 609-0697, Eunice Gudger at (731) 609-6359, or any TSU Alumni Chapter Member. All proceeds will be used to further scholarship opportunities of Hardeman County students.
