Hatchie Chapter DAR Donates Revolutionary War Books
The Hatchie Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), partnering with the Tennessee Society of the DAR (TSDAR) is excited to announce presentations of the newly published book Patriots to Pioneers: The First Tennessee Volunteers to Hardeman County Schools and Library. TSDAR members across Tennessee donated countless hours of research and volunteer work to produce a large volume of intimate stories tracing the journey of their ancestors from the US Revolutionary War through to the establishment of what we now call Tennessee.
With the help of the America 250! grant from the National Society of the DAR (NSDAR), Hatchie Chapter was able to purchase seven books which were donated to Toone Elementary, Bolivar Elementary, Whiteville Elementary, Middleton Elementary, Hornsby Elementary, Bolivar Middle School, and the Bolivar-Hardeman Country Library.
Hatchie Chapter joins with the TSDAR and the NSDAR to celebrate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America. This book is just one example of our many efforts to celebrate this important date. The Daughters of the American Revolution is dedicated to historical preservation, education, and patriotism; all accomplished by the efforts of its chapters at the local level.
