Volunteer this weekend. There are several places in Hardeman County for you to lend a hand. Please let us know if any updates should be made to our volunteer/community service page. Tennessee Promise students must complete eight (8.0) hours of community service by the Tuesday, July 1, 2025, deadline.

Children, ages 15 and younger, may continue fishing for free through Friday, June 13, 2025.

Town of Whiteville is conducting lead water testing in June.

Southwest HRA is providing free meals to the children of Hardeman County this summer. Find out where and the times.

Dixie Hills Baptist Church will hold “Yee Haw” – Celebrating God’s Greatest Gift VBS Day Camp, Monday through Wednesday, June 9 – 11, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for children, ages four years old. Learn more about the VBS.

The Brown Bag Book Club is meeting at the Bolivar-Hardeman County Library { 213 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008 } at 12 p.m. The book being discussed is The Women by Kristin Hannah.

Whiteville Elementary School (WES) is holding the 2nd Annual Basketball Camp for its students in kindregarten through fourth grade, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The camp for its fifth through eighth grade students will be held next week. Contact WES for more information. The program is sponsored by Mayor Gene Bowden and the Town of Whiteville.

Campbell Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will hold “God’s Laboratory: Fusing Elements for Explosive Joy”, or children, ages five and older from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more about the VBS.

Toone Baptist Church will hold “What a Mess VBS”, for children, ages pre-K through sixth grade, Monday through Wednesday, June 9 -11, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Call (731) 803-3006 for more information. Toone Baptist Church is located at 20 Keller Street, Toone, 38381.

Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church will hold God’s Laboratory Vacation Bible School for all ages of children, Monday through Friday, June 9 – 13, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Learn more about the VBS.

Porters Creek Baptist Church will hold Wonder Junction” – Marvel at Jesus, Live for His Glory, for preschool through twelfth grade, Sunday through Friday, June 8 – 13, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Learn more about the VBS.

City of Bolivar is holding its monthly meeting at City Hall {211 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008} at 6 p.m.

Youth Villages Foster Care webinar will be held at 6 p.m. CST. Learn how you can make a difference.

Sassy Seniors is being held at the Bolivar-Hardeman County Library { 213 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008 } at 11 a.m. The activity for the day is bean bag basketball.

Hardeman County Schools is holding its monthly board meeting at the school board office {10815 Old Highway 64, Bolivar, 38008} from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Bolivar Central High School is holding softball tryouts at the softball fields { Highway 64, Bolivar 38008 }. The West Tennessee Healthcare Satellite Clinic will stop at the Tractor Supply Co. and Dollar Tree parking lot {1361 West Market Street, Bolivar, 38008} from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It offers free primary care, behavioral health, and substance use treatment services. Walk-ins are accepted or you may call (731) 541-1600 to make an appointment.

Dungeons and Dragons program is being offered at the Bolivar-Hardeman County Library { 213 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008 } at 2 p.m. Children, ages 13 – 18, are encouraged to attend this new program. Registration is required to participate due to the design of the game.

Porters Creek Baptist Church will hold Wonder Junction” – Marvel at Jesus, Live for His Glory, for preschool through twelfth grade from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Stop by the Middleton Community Library {110 Bolton Avenue, Middleton, 38052 } for its Summer Reading Program at 11 a.m. The program is for children, ages three and older will be visited by Chickasaw State Park Rangers and some local animals. Readers can pick up reading logs. The Summer Reading Program will meet every Thursday in June.

Storytime is being held at the Bolivar-Hardeman County Library { 213 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008 } at 11 a.m. for children, ages infant to six years old.

Helping Hands of Middle and West Tennessee present the Breaking Barriers Workshop at the City of Bolivar City Hall {211 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008} from 12:15 p.m. to 2:15. p.m. Helping Hands of Middle and West Tennessee will share about pre-apprenticeship and financial assistance programs.

Bolivar-Hardeman County Library will kick off its Summer Reading program, Color Our World from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There will be bouncy houses, face painting, temporary tattoos, and games. The Summer Reading program is open to children, ages preschool through high school.

Toone Baptist Church will hold “What a Mess VBS” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
