Volunteer and give back to your community at one of these locations this weekend (or during the week). If your child will use the Tennessee Promise scholarship in the spring as a new or returning student, they can volunteer at one or more of those locations to satisfy the community service hour requirement. Don’t wait until the last minute. Tennessee Promise hours for spring 2025 students must be completed by Monday, December 2, 2024.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2024
Santa Claus is making at stop at the Lee Ola Roberts Library { 140 West Main Street, Whiteville, 38075 } at 2 p.m. where milk and cookies will be served.

Bolivar Holiday Pop Ups { 200 South Main Street, Bolivar 38008 – Old Wheeler building } will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is an event featuring vendors of crafters, artisans, and food. Proceeds from booth and food sales benefit Hope House for Homeless &/or Abused women & their children along with The Carl Perkins Center.

Take in a movie at the Luez Theater { 219 North Main Street, Bolivar, 38008 } where Moana 2 is being shown on the big screen at 7 p.m. Synopsis: “Moana 2” reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.

Carl Perkins Center presents Festival of Trees – Pictures with Santa from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Old Curves building { 112 West Lafayette Street, Bolivar 38008 }.

City of Bolivar’s Small Town, Big Christmas will be held at the Historic Court Square and Farmers Market from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. People may enjoy balloon artists, carriage rides, face painting, ice skating, live music, miniature golf, train rides, photos with Santa, and much more! See the schedule.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2024
Breakfast with the Grinch will be held at Backwoods of Bolivar { 15085 US Highway 64, Bolivar, 38008 } from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Green pancakes will be served.

Bolivar-Hardeman County Library { 213 North Washington Street, Bolivar, 38008 } will show a Christmas movie and serve hot chocolate and donuts from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Bolivar Holiday Pop Ups { 200 South Main Street, Bolivar 38008 – Old Wheeler building } will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is an event featuring vendors of crafters, artisans, and food. Proceeds from booth and food sales benefit Hope House for Homeless &/or Abused women & their children along with The Carl Perkins Center.

The Middleton Woman’s Club will dedicate a flagpole in front of Green Frog Coffee and Grill { 100 North Main Street, Middleton, 38052 } at 3 p.m.

Take in a movie at the Luez Theater { 219 North Main Street, Bolivar, 38008 } where Moana 2 is being shown on the big screen at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

A Heavenly Christmas: Pictures of Christmas from the Book of Revelation Christmas sermon series will be presented at Porters Creek Baptist Church { 5120 Pea Vine Road Middleton 38052 } at 11 a.m.

The City of Bolivar’s Lights on the Lake at Sand Beach Lake kicks off the Christmas season of events in the city with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. See more December Christmas events happening in Hardeman County.
