Hatchie Press’ Weekend Planner: February 24 – 26, 2023

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (rated PG-13) is showing at the historic Luez Theater! Showtimes are Friday, February 24, 2023, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The box office opens one hour prior to showtime for ticket sales.

In the film, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang.

The Hardeman County Commission for Black History (HCCBH) organization has several events happening this month in celebration of Black History Month. Check out the schedule and make plans to attend. {find the full schedule here}

HCCBH Exhibit/Display – “Black Resistance” at the Old Curves Building (behind the Bolivar Farmers Market), Lafayette Street, Bolivar, Tennessee 38008. 
Monday through Wednesday by appointment only, Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Hardeman County Storyteller Gladis Thomas will read to the children every Saturday at 2 p.m.

Signs ups are Saturday, February 25, 2023, and March 4, 2023, for the Bolivar Youth Athletics Dizzy Dean Baseball & Softball League at the Bolivar Lions Club Field from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You may register children, ages four through 12 (age for softball as of January 1 and for baseball as of May 1), and must bring a copy of their birth certificate and pay a registration fee of $75, which includes the uniform, insurance, and awards.

The season begins Monday, April 10, 2023.
