Hatchie Press’ Weekend Planner – Sponsored by UT Extension – Hardeman Healthy Outreach

This Hatchie Press Weekend Planner is sponsored by UT Extension’s Hardeman Healthy Outreach. They aim to improve access to healthy foods and physical activity opportunities in towns, churches, food pantries, worksites, and parks – to reduce chronic disease that may come with obesity. It is made possible with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.


The following are some events happening in and around Hardeman County the weekend of September 30 – October 2, 2022.

Grand Junction Community Yard Sale at the Old Cotton Gin. October 1, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., 216 Highway 57 East in Grand Junction.

The annual Mennonite Fall Fest will be held at Byler Craft, 655 Highway 64 in Whiteville, 38075. Donuts and coffee will be served at 8 a.m. The benefit auction will take place at 10 a.m. Pork BBQ and grilled chicken lunch plates will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature homemade ice cream, baked goods, train rides, farm animals, and a jumpy house. All proceeds go to Whiteville Mennonite School.

The Hardeman County Arts Council’s (HCAC) annual Hardeman’s Got Talent competition returns Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 6 p.m. The admission is $8 and the doors for the public open at 5:30 p.m. The registration to compete closes on Friday, September 30, 2022.

Open Air on the Square is back Saturday, October 1, 2022, with Devin Crutcher, live in concert. Start time is 7 p.m. Showtime is 8 p.m. at the Court Square Amphitheater, 100 Warren Street, Bolivar, 38008.

It is Friday Night Lights in Hardeman County. Bolivar Central High School (see BCHS schedule) and Middleton High School (see MHS schedule) both play football games tonight..

Only two more shows after this weekend! Music On the Square takes place every Friday evening at 7 p.m., weather permitting, through October 14, 2022. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a free, family-friendly concert behind the Hardeman County Courthouse in Bolivar. This Friday night, Chub Mackerel opens for The Southern Rose Band. Be sure to check out the new facility.

Go and see The Woman King (RATED PG-13) at the Luez Theater. Showtimes are:
