Helping Hands Unveils Free Dental Technician Apprenticeship, Hosting Workshop, Resource Fair on March 19

JACKSON, TENN. – Helping Hands of Middle & West Tennessee has partnered with Jackson State Community College (JSCC) to conduct a free 20-person cohort Dental Technician apprenticeship as part of a state funded grant. This 12 months pre-apprenticeship provides students with all the necessary training and credentials to become a dental technician to obtain employment after completing the program.
Students enrolled in the apprenticeship gain valuable hands-on experience using state-of-the-art dental 3D printers and dental equipment along with learning industry techniques and knowledge to prepare them for the workforce.
The first cohort of the program is already underway at JSCC, with a second cohort forming soon. To assist in recruiting for the apprenticeship, Helping Hands will host a Breaking Barriers Workshop and Resource Fair on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ned R McWherter Center located at 37 Alumni Drive, Jackson, Tennessee.
This workshop is aimed to educate attendees of the partnership with JSCC, discuss financial aid opportunities to attend the program, along with showcasing community resources ranging from financial literacy and legal services to educational opportunities and health and well-being.
