Hot Topics at Hardeman County Commission Meeting Tonight!

The Hardeman County Commission will meet this evening, January 17, 2023, at 7 p.m. at the Hardeman County Courthouse, 2nd floor, 100 North Main Street, Bolivar, Tennessee. The full agenda may be viewed below.

Several hot topics are on the agenda including:

  • A public hearing on a resolution to amend the zoning resolution regarding slaughterhouses.
  • A public hearing on a Solar Farm moratorium, which would temporarily prohibit the administrative processing and acceptance of any applications for further solar development in forestry, agriculture, and residential districts.
  • Regarding the properties rezoned for Royal Oak Charcoal – The Commission will also consider whether to rescind the Commissions action on October 16, 2018, adopting a motion to rezone Tax Parcel 00.800, Tax Map 012 (Richland Road E of) 317.03 acres from FAR to I-2. The Commission will also consider whether to rescind the Commissions action on April 27, 2021, rezoning Tax Parcel 003.00, Tax Map 009 (SR 138) from FAR to I-2.
  • Commissioners will vote on appointments to the Industrial Board, 911 Board, and Budget Committee. At the November 2022 Commission meeting, instead of approving Mayor Pulse’s recommendations to the Industrial Board, commissioners voted to accept applications from citizens interested in serving before appointing any new members.

All citizens are encouraged to attend in person, but if you are unable to attend, the meeting will be live streamed on the Hatchie Press Facebook page and later archived on the Hatchie Press YouTube channel.
