“If we’re going to grow, we’ve got to change” Representative Shaw Presents Proclamation for County’s Bicentennial
State Representative Johnny Shaw presented Hardeman County Mayor Todd Pulse with a proclamation in recognition of Hardeman County’s bicentennial at the County Commission meeting on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
Before the presentation, Representative Shaw shared some remarks, “We all ought to have a smile on our face this evening to live in this moment. That we can celebrate 200 years in this County. This is a moment that the County Commission and certainly those who are leaders in this County can be thankful to [Hardeman County Mayor Todd Pulse] for, what he has done for us and where he has brought us from in Hardeman County. I’m proud to live in Hardeman County. I’m proud to represent Hardeman County because Hardeman County is a great place.”
Representative Shaw continued, “Mayor, this evening we have a proclamation that we want to present to you and to this commission for the work that you do and remind you, as always, in this business we face challenges everyday. And for us (the commission, state representative) we embrace change. Everyday of my life I embrace change. Because I realize if we’re going to grow we’ve got to change. When I look at this proclamation, I can not imagine how many minds were changed over the last few hundred years to get us to the point we are at tonight. We are a blessed County!”
Hardeman County celebrated its 200th birthday on Monday, October 16, 2023, and will recognize the momentous occasion on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
