Independence Day Celebrated with Parade in Hickory Valley

Hickory Valley residents and friends gathered to celebrate Independence Day with its annual parade and cookout, fulfilling that quintessential image of small town USA. Community members decorated ATVs and drove antique cars for the annual parade. Afterwards, the Town of Hickory Valley provided the community with a hotdog lunch with many bringing potluck dishes to share.

It was announced in December Hickory Valley was receiving a grant for fire services improvements, which will go towards the purchase of a new fire truck, but the town still needs to raise additional funds. To help, it is having a fish fry fundraiser on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 3 p.m.to 6 p.m. at Hickory Valley City Hall, 7114 Highway 18, Hickory Valley. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the door or from any Hickory Valley fireman.
