Job Posting: City of Middleton Seeking City Administrator

The City of Middleton is currently looking to fill the position of City Administrator to work directly with its Utility and Public Works department. This position includes working directly with the Mayor and coordinating the overall operations of the City. This is a full-time position, and candidates MUST have utility management experience.

Job Description includes, but is not limited to: 

  • Provides city services by establishing and improving a functional structure, delegating authority
  • Maintains city staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees 
  • Maintains city employee job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees while also planning, monitoring, and appraising job results 
  • Must maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies 
  • Enforces the board’s decisions through the development and enforcement of policies and procedures  
  • Keeps the mayor and the board informed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Remains accessible, answering questions and requests
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must possess effective leadership skills 
  • Willingness to learn from mistakes and give feedback on ways to improve 
  • Must be team oriented 

The City of Middleton offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid health insurance, life insurance, retirement, vacation, and sick leave. Pay will depend upon experience. Applications for this position will be accepted until the position is filled. Applications are available at City Hall located at 300 South Main Street, Middleton, Tennessee. City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
