Kennel Owner Arrested Again After Violating Plea Agreement
Amanda Klapp, who was previously charged with multiple counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, was arrested recently after violating a special condition of her plea agreement.
In 2021, Klapp was charged with multiple counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after deputies found numerous dogs at a kennel in unhealthy conditions. Several of the dogs were starved, one was found dead in a cage, and another died soon after being rescued from the property. Deputies also found a dead dog buried on the property.
Last year, Klapp pled guilty to charges of aggravated cruelty to animals and served 11 months jail time. A lifetime prohibition on having custody of all animals was ordered as a condition of the plea agreement, but a recent investigation found Klapp to be in possession of various companion dogs.
Klapp has been booked into the Hardeman County Criminal Justice Complex. Her bond is set at $10,000.
