Arts Council Announces Lily Pulse as 2025 Scholarship Recipient

The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) announced its 2025 HCAC Scholarship recipient of $500 as Lily Pulse of Bolivar High School (BCHS). Applicants were asked to provide a response stating why they should be selected for the HCAC Scholarship in relation to a major or minor in the arts and/or related fields, and their future plans. The students who applied for the scholarship were selected by the HCAC scholarship committee.

Lily, who is the daughter of Josh and Lisa Pulse, graduated sixth in the BCHS class of 2025 of 167 students, and was recognized as a Wall of Fame senior. She has appeared in the HCAC productions of Beauty and the Beast, Jr., The Christmas Bus, and Mardi Gras Masquerade Murder dinner theatre. Lily has also appeared as a Hee Haw Cutie in the annual Hardeman County Hee Haw production, a fundraiser show for the American Cancer Society. While a student at BCHS, Lily was president of the Beta Club, secretary of the HOSA Club, and a member of the FFA Club, FTA Club, History Club, Club 21, and Spirit Club. She played volleyball, was a cheerleader, and the tennis manager. Other recognition included being voted Most Likely to be Everyone’s Best Friend and Most Spirited. Lily will attend the University of Mississippi to major in finance and minor in banking.

Each school year, the HCAC scholarship is open to seniors pursuing a college major or minor in the arts and/or related fields. Degree programs in art, creative writing, dance, drama, literature, and music, as well as teaching in these areas or related fields, will be considered. Students who have participated in an HCAC production on stage or behind the scenes, but are not pursuing one of those areas of study, are also eligible to apply.

This year, applications were received from both county high schools. The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) Scholarship is open to public, private, and home school students.
