Local Churches Offer Hot Meals for the Month of November

Brints Chapel Baptist Church and Parrans Chapel Baptist Church are serving free daily dinners throughout the month of November. Brints Chapel Baptist Church, located at 3260 Brints Chapel Lane, Middleton, 33805, will serve dinner Thursday through Monday at 6:30 p.m. nightly. Parrans Chapel, located at 9400 Old Highway 64, Bolivar, 38008, will have free meals available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.

“Originally we wanted to provide a way for people who weren’t receiving their SNAP benefits to get a hot dinner, but then we thought, why not just open it up to anyone who wants to come? Hopefully, people will come and find good fellowship with people who would love to meet them and get to know them,” shared Parrans Chapel’s Associate Pastor Dawson Dickey. “We hope that the people who come will find more than food. We hope that we have an opportunity to share the Gospel and the love of Jesus with people. Sharing the Gospel is at the center of everything we do. We want anyone to experience the saving grace of Jesus like we have.”

Both churches hope the community will benefit physically and spiritually from the meal.

“The primary reason that we are serving meals is to ensure that no one has to go hungry. Additionally, we always want to be a church who demonstrates the love of Christ to those who may be struggling both spiritually and physically,” shared Brints Chapel’s Children’s Ministry Leader Becky White.

Last week, Governor Bill Lee launched FeedTN.org to immediately address the food needs of people affected by the recent government shutdown. According to the State of Tennessee, there were more than 1,600 children in Hardeman County receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) in December 2024.
